Transport Planner

Bluestones Supply Chain Derby are currently looking for a Transport Planner for our client based near Derby.
The Role is working Monday – Friday and has two shift patterns that run between the hours of 06:00 – 20:00 (normally 06:00 – 16:00 and 10:00 – 20:00) however this may be adapted slightly depending on the business requirements.
This role would be perfect for a current Transport Planner who is looking to increase their knowledge and experience in the transport industry, and will involve working over two different transport desks, starting on a pallet desk, running local deliveries and then later being trained on the full load, long distance side of the business.
The role will involve planning of runs on both deliveries and collections as well as managing a team of drivers on the operation. The client has there own Maintenance teams so you will liaise with them to ensure vehicles are keeping to service and MOT schedules, The role will involve talking to the clients customers, so strong customer service skills alongside planning will be required.
The client is a long-established transport company with multi-site locations around the UK. They have a medium sized transport team, who work very closely with each other and rotate the work to ensure that everyone has the support they need.
Gaining further qualifications – like a transport managers CPC for the right people is a very distinct possibility as they strive to train and expand their teams’ skills as much as possible.
The starting salary for the role is between £29,000 and £31,000 depending on current experience level.
